Frequently Asked Questions
Membership:
"Does each memer of my family have to pay membership fees? ?"
-
A single membership covers all people in your household. "Household" is defined as anyone living in your family dwelling. However, no member under the age of 21 may take a guest to the range until that member has attained 21 years of age. In addition, any guest under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult member.
"My father, who lives in San Antonio, accompanies me to the range when he visits. Is there a limit to the number of times I can bring him to the range as my guest? ?"
-
A member can ring a guest living outside of Matagorda County as many times as teh member wishes. If an out-of-county guest visits often enough, he/she may consider membership as a mens of using the facilities unescorted.
Firearms:
"I am a holder of a license that allows me to have automatic firearms. Am I allowed to bring this type of firearm on the range?"
-
Automatic firearms can be brought onto the range, however the firearm may only be fired in "semiautomatic" mode only. No exceptions.
"I have a brand new scope on my rifle that I would like to sight in at 200 yds. Is there any procedure to follow?"
- Yes. All firearms with new sights must be test fired at the 25 yd target range and zeroed to within 3 inches of the aiming point before firing at longer distances.
"I have a .50 cal BMG Barrett semiautomatic rifle. Can I shoot this rifle on the range?"
- To date, the firing of .50 caliber BMG rifles on the range is undecided. Check back for updates.
"I'm set up at the 25 yard benches and would like to shoot at both the 25 and 50 yd targets from the same bench. Can I do this?
- No. Rules state that you must shoot perpendicular to the target. Crossfiring at targets other than that directly in front of you may result in a ricochet off the backstop and is considered unsafe.
General:
"Can I bring a few beers for after a shoot?"
-
Alcohol is strictly prohibited on the premises of the club. No exceptions.
